Job Type: Full-time condensed workweek
Hours: Monday - Thursday, Day Shift (4x10 hour shifts)
This opportunity is for our Portland, Oregon location.
Primary Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and team-oriented Design Engineer to join our company. The main responsibility of this position is to design the tooling that will produce the thermoformed products, work on process improvement projects, and provide design support for manufacturing. Candidates should be well versed in Keycreator or another solid modeling CAD system, have a strong knowledge of design concepts and possess a positive “can do” attitude. Thermoforming or injection molding design experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Create thermoformable part designs using solid modeling CAD system.
- Design thermoform sample and production tooling.
- Create part drawings and dimensioned prints for internal and external customers.
- Improve processes and reduce cost.
- Project management
- Interact with tool builders, production, and sales departments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years in thermoforming, injection molding, or similar manufacturing industry.
- Ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision.
- Advanced knowledge of job concepts, practices and procedures.
- Advanced degree of creativity and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Sustained level of high performance at achieving positive results.
- Thorough, accurate, and detail oriented.
